Once in a while you have a special opportunity like this to work alongside such talented people. It was a real privilege to participate in this public artwork as part of the Aluminum Quilting Society coordinated by David Hind.
A massive 15'x15' hand-engraved aluminum public artwork dedicated to artist Lawren Harris was unveiled Monday on what was the 132nd anniversary of the Group of Seven painter's birth in Brantford. Revealing La Landscape de Kanata, mounted on the west wall of the Brantford Public Library, caps off a series of Lawren Harris Week activities organized to raise awareness of the city's diverse cultural assets.

"A visual discussion of trees, their place in our local environment, and daily lives."
The story began over 5 years ago which brought an ongoing body of landscape art to places and experiences that were both new to me and stirred feelings already deep inside myself. Over time I began to identify the landscape’s individual elements that were consistent throughout my artworks. Finding trees stoically ever present, while playing key supportive roles in expressing the mood and tone of the stories. I came to realize how throughout my lifetime I have relied on them as my own personal sanctuary. This is my testimonial to these places in my heart.

"A group show curated by Sarah Reid, B.A."
Wood touches our everyday lives, including through the art we encounter. The use of wood in art is both functional and versatile - as well as beautiful. The wood-firing of clay, the turning of a wooden bowl, the printing of an inked woodcut each reveal the creative possibilities of this natural material in their own unique way.
"In Their House" is being shown as an example of woodcut using locally sourced wood. Carnegie Art Gallery, 10 King St. W, Dundas, Ontario

The Button Factory Arts Centre in downtown Waterloo is a wonderful facilitator of community arts in their region. The exhibit is open to all visual artists in Ontario, but really showcases the quality of art in and around it's own arts community. I was happy to receive an Honourable Mention for "Waterloo Shadow Play". Button Factory Arts, 25 Regina Str. S., Waterloo, Ontario

In the fall of 2015 it was my pleasure to be an artist-in-residence at Spark Box Studio in Picton, Ontario. Master printmaker Kyle and Chrissy worked with me daily to meet my objective of gaining a working knowledge of "non-toxic" metal etching techniques that I was able to bring back to create with in my own studio.

This is when I have a chance to show what I've been creating since last year's tour. The artists of the 16th Annual Brant Studio Tour invite you to celebrate the arts in Brant County. Venture into their working studios and see what inspires our many and varied artists to create. Representing a wide range of disciplines, media and styles - traditional to contemporary, classical to quirky, you will see 2 and 3 dimensional works-in-progress as well as finished art on display. This is an ideal time to purchase directly from the artist.

Every two years the GPAG hosts a juried exhibition to showcase new and exciting works by artists from across Ontario. This competition often attracts up to 200 entries; from these the jurors select about 30 pieces to be in the show... Very excited to have 2 of my works accepted into this wonderful show.
